Since president Joe Biden entered the Oval Office in January of 2021, he has governed as an extreme progressive. After campaigning as a moderate, Biden has embraced the modern far-left philosophy of Democrats. Biden touted spending packages at the commencement of his presidency and eagerly signed these packages into law after they were crafted and passed by the House and Senate in congress. These packages expanded governmental agencies, continuing to add to the bloating of federal bureaucracy. They also brought about at least in part high levels of rampant inflation which have crushed the American working class. 60% of American citizens are living paycheck to paycheck.
Amidst all this, Biden and the Democrats continue to push a radical “green energy” agenda. Before leaving the White House following the 2020 presidential election, Donald Trump had America “energy independent”- the nation was not relying on foreign countries for oil, natural gas, or any other energy resources for the first time in decades. Trump even increased and replenished the nation’s strategic reserves. Trump governed in a pragmatic and nationalist sense, attempting to strengthen the United States and begin to wean the country off its dependence on foreign nations for essential products.
Biden reversed all of this, and America is now importing oil from nations like Iran and Venezuela, countries that are ideologically opposed to the United States. The nation is no longer energy independent, and Biden has gutted domestic oil production. He has increased federal subsidies for solar and wind energy alternatives; many state governments also offer these subsidies. Nations like Russia and China have greatly benefitted. Russia is currently waging a war in Ukraine. While NATO has been expanded in opposition, it is a weak, obsolete entity. Ukraine had previously warned Germany that Russian spies had infiltrated NATO- it appears they were recently discovered and expelled. The war in Ukraine is a bloody stalemate that appears unlikely to end any time soon.
