Ron DeSantis Ad Being Targeted For Being “Homophobic”

On Friday, the DeSantis War Room published a peculiar advertisement on Twitter. The segment targeted Trump by playing a tape of him from 2016 in which he pledged to do everything in his power to protect LGBTQ persons.

After releasing the video, Ron DeSantis, a Republican presidential contender, was condemned by the Log Cabin Republicans. They are the biggest LGBT Republican organization in the United States.

DeSantis was attacked for producing the “homophobic” advertisement that challenged former President Donald Trump’s links to the LGBT community. The ad was critical of Trump’s affirmative comments made about transgender people.

Trump made these comments in response to the massacre that took place at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida, which resulted in the deaths of 49 people. In addition, the advertisement included footage of President Trump campaigning alongside transgender Republican Caitlyn Jenner.

According to a statement by the Log Cabin Republicans, the rhetoric coming from the “War Room” of the DeSantis campaign today is divisive and desperate. Republicans and other common-sense conservatives are of the opinion that Ron Desantis has turned off voters in battleground states, particularly younger ones.

Conservatives understand the significance of protecting children, promoting opportunities for women in sports and the workplace, preserving safe spaces for women, and bolstering the rights of parents, according to a statement from the group.

They condemned DeSantis for engaging in excessive speech, which they saw as homophobic. The Log Cabin Republicans were given a warning.

In a second tweet, the national president of the organization, Charles T. Moran, voiced his disapproval of DeSantis’s statements and actions.

They noted that DeSantis could have gone after radical LGBTQ people, but instead he went after the people who get votes for the Republican Party and help Republicans win elections.

There are other LGBT Republican organizations other than Log Cabin Republicans that have condemned DeSantis over the advertisement.

Richard Grenell, who served as interim Director of National Intelligence under Trump, tweeted that this is an undeniable example of homophobia, while Caitlyn Jenner, in a post that has since been removed, said that DeSantis had just thrown away whatever chance he had at being elected in 2028.
