White House Says It “Ran Out Of Time” On Border Meeting With Mexico

(Presidentialwire.com)- In a meeting with Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador on Monday in Mexico City, Joe Biden apparently “ran out of time” before they could publicly discuss migration with Mexico.

According to a report, migration after a border visit gets short shrift at the Biden-AMLO summit.

Biden claims he, AMLO, and Trudeau didn’t spend much time discussing migration, but AMLO claims it was covered “quite broadly.”

According to persons familiar with the situation, US and Mexican cabinet officials ran out of time before discussing migration at a formal meeting on Monday in Mexico City, leaving a significant problem between the countries primarily unanswered.

Reports show President Joe Biden still sees unchecked migration coming across the southern border of the US as a political liability. According to officials, the issue was discussed during a formal meeting in Mexico City between the American leader, Mexican President Andres Manuel López Obrador, and more than two dozen of their top aides.

The larger delegation, which included Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, had less time than anticipated because a private conversation between Biden and Lopez Obrador before the official meeting took longer than expected. Officials claimed that Biden and AMLO spoke privately about migration and the border, although it is unclear how long or in-depth their conversation was.

According to officials, Biden, AMLO, and their cabinet secretaries discussed supply chains and drug smuggling for most of the more extensive meetings.

Video reports show AMLO did take the time to express his gratitude to Biden for refraining from erecting “even one meter of the wall” along our southern border.

Was that a dig at Biden’s incompetence?

During their joint press conference, AMLO boasted that there are 40 million Mexicans in the United States, including those born in Mexico or the children of people born in Mexico.

Biden remarked in 2015 that “replacement migration,” according to Biden, is a source of our strength and something we can be most proud of.

Biden becomes emotional when he sees the thousands of illegal immigrants that enter our southern border each week.
