Up To 25,000 National Guard Troops Stationed In D.C.

(PresidentialWire)- As many as 25,000 members of the National Guard are now station in Washington, D.C., in preparation for what we’re told is the inauguration of the most popular presidential candidate in history.

Yeah, we have questions, too…

The Department of Defense has reportedly authorized 25,000 service members to be deployed to the nation’s capital, some 5,000 more than originally planned. It comes after the FBI said that they were hearing a lot of “chatter” about violent protest planned for inauguration day.

In a statement from the United States Army on Friday, the increase was described as a way of supporting federal law enforcement’s “mission and security preparations.” The efforts are being led by the United States Secret Service.

“Our National Guard soldiers and airmen are set around the city to protect our nation’s Capitol,” Gen. Daniel Hokansen, the National Guard Bureau Chief said.

Rumors recently circulated that there would be some kind of national lockdown to prevent protests on inauguration day, but South Carolina’s National Guard confirmed this is untrue.

“The rumors that the South Carolina National Guard is supporting a statewide or nationwide lockdown or quarantine are not true,” they said. “Rumors like this can create confusion and anxiety in the organization and our communities.”

Commentators and voters have a lot of questions about the purpose of securing Washington, D.C. with so many troops. Right-wing author Jack Murphy said that he has “never seen anything like this before” and questioned where it is a photo op, display of force, or effort to quell an insurrection.

And there are still questions about the legitimacy of Democrat claims that the violence seen on January 6, which resulted in six deaths, was really an insurrection.

If it was an insurrection…it was probably the weirdest one the West has ever seen.

Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser has asked visitors to stay away from the city before, during, and after the inauguration.

Boy, it sounds like the Biden-Harris inauguration is going to be a whole lot of fun…
