Trump Used Phone That Was Not On Official Log

(PresidentialWire.com)- Last week, the corporate news media rushed to report that the 7-hour gap in the White House call logs on January 6 was proof of a cover-up by the Trump administration.

The only problem is the report was a lie. There was no cover-up. No pages in the White House call logs were missing. And the six pages leaked to the press by the January 6 Select Committee were complete.

By Friday, all the media outlets that rushed to report the so-called “Worse than Watergate” story were forced to walk back their initial claims.

In a “whoopsie” article on Friday, CNN reported that the 7-hour gap was likely explained by the use of White House landlines and cellphones, as well as personal phones – none of which go through the White House switchboard. CNN was forced to admit that this 7-hour gap was not due to Trump using “burner phones” as the select committee had hoped, nor was it because any of the official switchboard logs were suppressed.

In short, everything CNN’s on-air personalities ran with earlier in the week were lies.

According to Axios, on January 6, Trump’s executive assistant Molly Michael was absent for most of the day for personal reasons. One of Molly Michael’s jobs was to keep handwritten notes on Trump’s unscheduled meetings and phone calls.

One source told CNN that it isn’t unusual that the switchboard log wouldn’t show calls from the Oval Office since Trump typically had his staff place the calls directly on landlines or cell phones. And those direct calls wouldn’t show up on the switchboard call log.

A former Obama staffer told CNN that Barack Obama did the same thing.

According to the CNN “whoopsie” report on Friday, the White House call log is generated by a switchboard system that dates back to the early 1960s. The outdated system isn’t suited for today’s communications technology.

All that breathless, histrionic reporting was in vain. The walls weren’t closing in and Trump wasn’t headed to jail.

For over a year, the media refused to report on the New York Post’s story on Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop, arguing that it was unverified. But those same media outlets unquestioningly ran with this “7-hour gap” cover-up story without a moment’s hesitation.

And they wonder why the American people don’t trust them anymore.
