Trump Urges DOJ to Reopen Probe Into Ashli Babbitt’s Death

( Former President Donald Trump isn’t backing down over the shooting of military vet Ashli Babbitt.

While the media harps on about the January 6 as if it were a terror attack on par with September 11, and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi continues her partisan attempts to paint Republicans as inciters of violent insurrection, the 45th president blocking out the noise and focusing on supporting the family of Babbitt, the woman who was killed by a police Lt. Michael Byrd.

In a video message recorded for Babbitt’s family, Trump said that her memory will “live on in our hearts for all time.”

Trump talked about Babbitt’s 14 years in the United States Air Force, talked about how she became a security force airman and later a senior airman, and praised her for defending our nation overseas including during the war on terror in Iraq.

He referred to Lt. Michael Byrd’s decision to shoot has as “horrible” and insisted that there was no reason she should have lost her life that day.

“We must all demand justice for Ashli and her family,” Trump said, before renewing his call for a “fair and nonpartisan investigation” into her death.

“I offer my unwavering support to Ashli’s family and call on the Department of Justice to reopen its investigation into her death on Jan. 6,” he said.

A previous investigation found that Byrd didn’t act illegally, but the evidence still shows that Babbitt was not threatening anybody at the time she was shot, nor did she pose a threat.

So why did he shoot her?

Well, Byrd claimed that he “saved countless lives” by doing it.

He said that he knows many members of Congress were in jeopardy and serious danger, and that it’s his “job” to protect people.

Abbitt, however, didn’t pose a threat and was not threatening anybody.

What’s more, the FBI even walked back its claim that there were “capture and kill” teams operating in the crowds of the January 6 riot, confirming that politicians were not at risk of being killed.

Why can the Democrats can an ultra-partisan “investigation” into the January 6 riots, but we can’t get a fair investigation into the death of an unarmed woman?
