Trump Tried To Remove Jared Kushner From Campaign

(PresidentialWire.com)- Former Trump official Peter Navarro’s new book takes a shot at Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, claiming an attempt to oust Kushner from the 2020 campaign failed after then-President Trump refused to break the bad news to Kushner himself.

According to The Guardian, which received an advanced copy of the book, “Taking Back Trump’s America: Why We Lost the White House and How We’ll Win it Back,” Navarro claims that former President Trump supported a so-called attempted “coup d’état” to remove Kushner from his role in the 2020 campaign and replace him with podcaster Steve Bannon. But the change never happened because Trump refused to confront him, sending someone else to do it instead.

Navarro claims in his book that the failure of this supposed “coup d’état,” which was allegedly supported by Don Junior, directly led to Trump’s 2020 defeat, which he describes as a “catastrophic strategic failure.”

Navarro writes that while Trump voiced support for the move, he feared that ousting Kushner would lead to “family troubles.” So rather than broach the subject with his son-in-law, the former president enlisted Home Depot founder Bernie Marcus, a prominent Trump donor, to break the news to Kushner.

Navarro said Marcus “grudgingly” agreed to take the bullet for Trump.

According to Navarro’s account, after initially refusing to speak with Bernie Marcus, Kushner finally told the GOP donor that the campaign was doing fine and he wasn’t stepping down, effectively telling Marcus to “go pound sand.”

Peter Navarro isn’t exactly a fan of the former president’s son-in-law.

After Jared Kushner revealed in his memoir that he had undergone treatment for thyroid cancer in 2017, Navarro accused Kushner of including that in his memoir to gain sympathy and try to boost sales.
