Trump Team Slams Poll That Show Harris Gaining Edge in Battleground States

Donald Trump’s presidential campaign slammed FOX News for its poll results, which showed Democratic candidate Kamala Harris leading against the former president by 1% point in key battleground states.

According to the Fox News polls, Trump is trailing Harris by 1% point in Arizona, 2% points in Nevada and Georgia, and 1% point in North Carolina. On average, the polls suggested that Harris is leading against Trump by a 1% margin in these states, a number that is still within the margin of error.

However, the Trump campaign lashed out at the conservative media outlet, stating, “It’s that time of year again,” and accused the network of releasing “atrocious polling” results. The campaign stated that FOX polls from the same time of year in the 2020 presidential cycle were also wrong, as the media network showed inflated support for Joe Biden in states like Nevada, Arizona, Georgia, and North Carolina.

The campaign claimed that Trump is outperforming himself from the 2020 election cycle and enjoys 10 points more support in Arizona, 8 points in Nevada, and 5 points in North Carolina.

When Joe Biden was the Democratic presidential candidate, Fox News conducted polls that put Trump ahead of him by at least 5% in all these states.

Reportedly, Kamala Harris has managed to win back the support of black voters in many swing states, which has helped her rise above Biden’s popularity. The FOX News poll found that Harris has the backing of 79% of black voters compared to 19% who support the former president. However, having 19% support of black voters is also a win for Trump as he was backed by only 7% of them in the 2020 elections.

Harris is also leading in Hispanic voters, 56% of whom support her while 42% back her Republican rival.

The FOX News polling was conducted among 4,053 registered voters, and it has an error margin of 3% in all individual states and 1.5% in the overall polls.

Meanwhile, other polls show Trump enjoying a much wider lead over Harris in key states. The recently released Reuters poll still put Trump ahead by 2% points in states that decided the 2020 presidential elections, including North Carolina, Wisconsin, Nevada, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Nevada.

In the overall race, Reuters polls found Harris 4% ahead of Trump, majorly because more voters are excited after her entry into the White House race. The same poll found Harris 1% ahead in July.

This poll also indicated that Harris particularly has notable support from women and Hispanic voters as she leads the former president by 13% in both these voter groups separately. On the other hand, Trump is more popular among male voters and white people.
