Trump Slams 35 Republicans Who Betrayed Party

( On Thursday, President Donald Trump publicly sided with Democrats who opposed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s insulting push to compare the January 6 D.C. riots with the tragic events of September 11, 2001. The former president issued a statement condemning the 35 House Republicans who sided with the Democrats and voted to established a 9/11-style commission dreamed up by Speaker Pelosi to investigate the “truth” behind the riots.

Pelosi reached an agreement with some Republicans on proposals for the commission, agreeing to allow an equal number of Republicans and Democrats on the panel, which she says would establish the truth behind the so-called “insurrection.”

Presumably, the deal didn’t constitute much of a compromise for Pelosi, given that some Republicans (though, a minority) hate former President Trump just as much as her. Should one of those Republicans be placed on the commission panel, it will easily allow for false conclusions to be drawn that could further tarnish former President Trump’s reputation and hamper any potential 2024 run.

The House of Representatives voted to establish the commission on Wednesday, passing 25w to 175.

“We have much better policy and are much better for the Country, but the Democrats stick together, the Republicans don’t. They don’t have the Romney’s, Little Ben Sasse’s, and Cheney’s of the world. Unfortunately, we do. Sometimes there are consequences to being ineffective and weak. The voters understand!” President Trump said in a statement from his Save America PAC.

President Trump’s statement could potentially influence Senate Republicans to use the filibuster to block the passing of the bill. Combined with the confirmation from House GOP Senate Leader Mitch McConnell that he opposes the plan, citing the existence of other ongoing investigations into the D.C. riots, then it looks as though the Senate can only pass the legislation if every single Democrat and Vice President Kamala Harris throw their weight behind it.

Should such a panel be established, lawmakers may be able to force former President Donald Trump to testify – another effort to smear the president after the impeachment hearings failed to prove that he incited a violent insurrection.

The Democrats just.won’t.stop.the.madness.
