(PresidentialWire.com)- On Saturday night, President Donald Trump held his first rally in months. Taking thousands of supporters to a huge venue in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Trump reigniting his MAGA campaign and held the most exciting public campaign event from either the Republicans or Democrats in the 2020 presidential campaign so far.

During the rally, President Trump discussed the ongoing riots across the United States and the many instances of flag burning that have occurred. Referencing one instance where a statue was wrapped in a flag and set alight, he suggested those who do it should face criminal prosecution.

“We ought to come up with legislation that if you burn the American flag you go to jail for one year,” Trump said. The president pointed to Republican senators for Oklahoma, Jim Inhofe and James Lankford, as he said it.

“We oughta do it. We talk about freedom of speech…but that’s desecration,” he said, to big cheers from the audience.

This isn’t the first time President Trump has talked about the possibility of making flag burning a criminal offense. Last year, Trump put his weight behind a proposed bill by Republican Senator Steve Daines, which suggested banning flag burning through the passing of a new constitutional amendment. No small task, so perhaps unsurprisingly, the legislation is still going through Congress but has not made any significant progress.

President Trump’s rally in Oklahoma was as controversial as they usually are, at least to the left-wing press. The president mocked fake news about a recent incident in which he struggled to walk down a slippery ramp, owing to him wearing leather shoes. Trump spent minutes detailing the story in humorous detail, to the delight of the crowd which was mocked by the left-wing press.

The rally also suffered in terms of attendance, owing to many of the registered attendees being blocked from entering the venue by violent left-wing protesters.
