(PresidentialWire.com)- Presumptive Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden has been one of the least visible Democratic candidates in a long time. The former vice president went into lockdown in April, building his own makeshift film studio in the basement of his Delaware home. It resulted in months of Biden being virtually unseen in the media, holding zero press conferences, and only appearing in occasional livestreams with popular online influencers.
Biden only recently came out of hiding to attend the Black Lives Matter protests in his city, kneeling alongside far-left rioters, and President Trump recently took aim at him over it. During an interview with Fox News that aired on Friday, President Trump accused Biden of creating a “sanctuary city” in his basement.
“He’s created his own sanctuary city in the basement of wherever he is, and he doesn’t come out,” he said.
Speaking to Harris Faulkner, the president spoke calmly and respectfully about Joe Biden’s cognitive decline.
“Look, Joe’s not all there,” he said. “Everybody knows it, and it’s sad when you look at it. You see it for yourself.”
Trump was referring to the fact that Biden has repeatedly appeared to forget where is during interviews, has been unable to follow scripts on his teleprompters, and loses his way mid-sentence.
Interestingly, though, President Trump appeared for the first time ever to ponder the possibility that he may lose the election in November.
“Certainly, if I don’t win, I go on and do other things,” he said. “I think it would be very sad for our country.”
President Trump has been hit by weeks of bad polling numbers. Polls have repeatedly suggested he doesn’t have a significant chance of winning re-election, though many argue that the polls may be just as inaccurate as they were in 2016. Others recognize the very real impact that widespread race riots and national lockdowns can have on positive polling numbers.
President Trump will be looking to reignite his campaign on June 20th when he hosts his first MAGA rally in months. As states begin to reopen and people go back to work, President Trump will also look to show that he is capable of rebuilding an economy after already delivering the best employment numbers in American history.
