Ted Cruz Thinks GOP Will Rally Behind Mayorkas Impeachment

On Wednesday, Republican Ted Cruz of Texas said impeaching DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas would help bring House Republicans closer together.

While impeaching Mayorkas would unify Republicans in the House, Cruz argued on the Julie Mason Show on SiriusXM on Wednesday that it would also bring attention to the terrible human suffering caused by the Biden administration’s open borders.

After Speaker Kevin McCarthy was removed on Tuesday, Republican members of the House were in turmoil. Cruz thinks impeaching Mayorkas and Attorney General Merrick Garland will get the country back on track and allow representatives to solve critical concerns.

Cruz said the House should move through with impeachment proceedings against Merrick Garland. The senator claims that Attorney General Merrick Garland is more political and partisan than his predecessors. Two senior career IRS officials who blew the whistle on their employer have accused Merrick Garland of perjury in front of Congress.

The senator noted that the DOJ also obstructed justice by trying to halt inquiries into Hunter Biden’s alleged misconduct and, more importantly, Joe Biden’s possible complicity.

The House’s efforts to impeach Mayorkas, despite the persistent problem of over 200,000 monthly illegal border crossings, have been losing steam throughout the summer.

Texan Freedom Caucus member Rep. Chip Roy told reporters that lawmakers should consider Mayorkas’ effectiveness on the job rather than only his “serious crimes and misdemeanors” while debating whether or not to remove him.

According to reports, on Wednesday, President Joe Biden’s administration revealed that it is waiving 26 laws to construct additional border barriers, which starkly contrasts the president’s commitment throughout his 2020 campaign not to construct even one more inch of wall along the border.

In the federal notice released on Wednesday, Mayorkas said there is an immediate need to construct physical barriers and roadways near the US border to prevent unauthorized incursions into the country.

Mayorkas’ rhetoric does not match his actions.
