It’s all fun and games being a Hollywood and TV star, but it starts to get scary when the media is interested in how you look naked.
Heartthrob actress Sydney Sweeney recently opened up about a disturbing encounter with paparazzi during an interview with Glamour, shedding light on the extreme lengths photographers go to for a shot. The Anyone But You actress revealed that paparazzi approached her family at her Florida home and demanded that she step outside in a bikini in exchange for them leaving her and her family alone.
“They said, ‘If you tell her to just come outside in a bikini, I’ll take pictures and then I’ll leave you alone,’” Sweeney recounted. The actress also shared how this intrusion has led to a significant breach of privacy, putting her safety at risk. According to Sweeney, paparazzi have resorted to hiding in bushes and using kayaks to capture images of her, often spending entire days lurking outside her property.

This type of invasion has transformed her home into a sort of “star tour” location, with boats passing by as tourists openly identify her residence. “I literally hear them say, ‘This is Sydney Sweeney’s house,’” she said, lamenting how her once private space has become a hotspot for onlookers and photographers.
Sweeney also addressed rumors that she herself calls the paparazzi to stage photos, firmly denying these accusations. “Why would I call the paparazzi to take pictures of me at my own house when my baby cousins and family are there and I’m in my backyard? Why would I ever want that?” she asked, clarifying that the idea of her willingly exposing her family to such attention is nonsensical.
While discussing the negative attention and obsession with her body, Sweeney also touched on the positive side. Many fans have reached out to express how she has inspired them to feel more comfortable in their own skin. “It means a lot to me because I really believe in empowering others and feeling powerful with your body and embracing your sexuality,” she said, emphasizing her commitment to body positivity.
Despite the relentless media scrutiny, Sweeney is determined to maintain a sense of safety and normalcy for herself and her loved ones, all while navigating the complexities of fame.
What do you think – does the paparazzi go too far or should Sweeney just accept that this is part of her life now?
