Shaq Comes Out Against Vaccine Mandates

( Shaquille O’Neal, who just four months ago was lecturing Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving for refusing to get the COVID vaccine has now changed his tune on vaccine mandates.

During his “The Big Podcast with Shaq” last week, the Basketball Hall of Famer, while encouraging his listeners to “be safe” and “take care of your family,” said he disagreed with vaccine mandates.

Shaq said people “shouldn’t be forced to take something you don’t want.”

O’Neal and his co-hosts Nischelle Turner and Anthony “Spice” Adams were discussing the nurses in New York who were accused of making over $1 million selling fake vaccine cards. O’Neal believed the two nurses shouldn’t serve any jail time.

The topic shifted to whether or not it was fair for a private company to fire someone who refuses to get the COVID vaccine. Shaq suggested employees shouldn’t have to be forced to make the decision to get vaccinated if it means going against their morals. But Turner disagreed, saying if an employee doesn’t want to comply, he should be fired.

While O’Neal agreed with Turner about following the rules “because I’m a rules guy,” he added that he has sympathy for the people who are being forced to make that decision.

Turner, however, felt no sympathy for them because they are “putting other people at risk.”
