Ron DeSantis Orders Investigation Of Restaurant Featuring Drag Shows For Children

( After conducting an investigation, the Florida Department of Business and Regulation last week filed a complaint against a Miami restaurant for hosting “lewd activity” with children present.

The complaint accuses R House in Wynwood of hosting “sexualized” drag shows in which underage children were in attendance.

The restaurant could lose its state liquor license.

During an unrelated press conference last Wednesday, Governor Ron DeSantis blasted the practice, saying allowing children into the venue for such drag shows is “not consistent” with Florida laws and policy.

The governor decried the “disturbing trend” of trying to “sexualize these young people,” adding that this isn’t “the way you protect children.”

According to the Miami Herald, R House is claiming that the controversy surrounding the drag show video was a “misunderstanding.”

The restaurant said its lawyer was working with the Department of Business and Regulation to “rectify” the matter, but added that it hopes DeSantis, as a “vociferous supporter and champion” of the state’s hospitality industry “will see this as what it is, a misunderstanding.”

The video Governor DeSantis mentioned was posted to Twitter in early July by the Libs of TikTok account.
