Queen Forced To Use Cain For First Time As She Struggles To Maintain Her Balance In Old Age

(PresidentialWire.com)- Queen Elizabeth II, the Queen of England the Commonwealth, appeared last week using a walking stick to aid with her balance for the first time in decades.

The 95-year-old monarch, who serves as the head of state for the United Kingdom and various other nations across the globe. Was accompanied by her daughter Princess Ann at a thanksgiving event to mark the centenary of the Royal British Legion at Westminster Abbey.

Cameras immediately focused on how the Queen, who has for several decades walked without need for assistance despite her advanced age, took a walking stick from her daughter and continued about her work.

The last time she was seen with a walking stick- the very same walking stick, in fact – was in 2003 and 2004, when she was recovering from surgery. The Queen appeared using a walking stick as she left the King Edward VII Hospital in London after the operation, and later used a wooden walking stuck at a church service in Sandringham just two weeks later.

A press statement from Buckingham Palace said that the Queen was using the stick “for comfort” and gave no additional information about the Queen’s health. However, it’s entirely plausible that she wasn’t using the stick because of any illness, but instead, because the entrance of the historic Abbey has a cobbled floor – making it uneven and risky for a 95-year-old to walk on.

Speaking to the Mail Online, medical experts said that the Queen appeared to be walking with a “telescopic walking police with trigger grip and wrist loop” rather than a traditional cane, and that the one she is using is more suited for use outdoors.

The Queen didn’t appear to be relying on the stick, either, as she regularly held it loosely and walked with confidence.

At 95 years old, Queen Elizabeth II is the oldest living Monarch.

In 2022, she and the British people will celebrate 70 years on the throne.
