(PresidentialWire.com)- The announcement by rapper Kanye West that he intends to run for president in November shocked many Donald Trump supporters. West has long been a support of Trump, wearing the red MAGA hat in public and regularly telling the media that he refuses to support the Democrats because of the color of his skin. So the decision to run against Trump sparked conversations about whether the famous rapper has really stopped supporting Trump, or whether he is tactically trying to take support away from Joe Biden.
Speaking to Sean Hannity on Fox News, President Trump fueled the speculation that West may be doing this tactically.
“He’s a very good guy. He is a person that I get along with very well,” President Trump said. “At the end, I think he would support us over anyone else, we have to stop the radical left from taking over our country.”
West has long talked about the possibility of running for president, but with his vocal support for President Trump, few believed he would opt to run any time before 2024. In early July, however, he announced that he intends to run as an independent candidate on a platform that aims to “realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future.”
Vague, I know, but it’s still a fascinating turn of events. West has publicly said that he believes that the Democrats are not the party for Black Americans and has even said that Biden is “not special.” Speaking about President Trump, West said that he is “taking off the red cap” and blamed the story of the president being taken to a bunker in the White House during BLM riots as a reason for dropping his support.
We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of the United States 🇺🇸! #2020VISION

Perhaps one of the most bizarre things West has said about his campaign, however, is that he plans to seek advice from presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden and even Trump advisor Jared Kushner.
“I’m speaking with experts, I’m going to speak with Jared Kushner, the White House, with Biden,” he said.
He also said that one of the main reasons he “wore the red hat” was to protest against the “segregation of votes in the Black community.”
Could it be that Kanye West is planning on taking votes away from the Democrats and giving Black voters an alternative if they’re not willing to support Donald Trump?
