(PresidentialWire.com)- Whatever Larry David’s political opinions might be, we have to face the fact that people love Curb Your Enthusiasm. It’s a legendary show, and now, it’s returning.
After production for the show was canceled during the COVID-19 pandemic, the show is finally returning with Larry David expected to once again appear as a fictionalized and exaggerated version of himself. It will be the 11th season of the show, and it will be set in the post-pandemic United States.
On Tuesday, the first episode of the new season premiered in Los Angeles – but David wasn’t admitting much about the plot of the new season. All we know is that his Larry David character is going to be seriously annoyed by the events of the last year.
Speaking to Reuters after walking down the red carpet at the Paramount Studios in Hollywood, David said that he “can’t really give too much away.”
“I don’t think people would enjoy it as much so I’m going to play it close to the vest and just say that I hope it’s funny,” he added.
If you’ve never seen the show before, it focuses on the daily life of Larry David. In the show, he’s precisely the same person he is in real life, but he gets wrapped up in fictional stories.
Jeff Schaffer, the executive producer of the show who previously worked with Larry David on “Seinfeld,” said that they decided to set the new season of the show in a post-pandemic world to provide people with some hope and optimism.
“We were sort of optimistic for once in our lives and hoped that the pandemic would basically be in the rearview mirror,” he said, adding that they treated the show as if there had been a pandemic, but that the pandemic is now behind the characters.
In other words, the world in which the fictionalized Larry David lives is going to be freer than the world we actually live in right now.
