Nighttime Host Erupts In Rage Over Supreme Court Leak

( Following the revelation of the draft ruling to overturn Roe v. Wade, Stephen Colbert went on a uniformed rant about the Conservative members of the Supreme Court.

“Well, sh#t,” Colbert said at the start of his Tuesday show, whining about the fact that he would no longer be able to focus on the 2022 Met Gala and would instead have to discuss “another set of out of touch individuals in ridiculous dresses claiming it’s 1895 – the Supreme Court.”
The host went on to rant about Politico’s release of a Supreme Court draft written by Justice Samuel Alito, which overturns the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision.

Conservative justices Brett Kavanaugh, Neil Gorsuch, and Amy Coney Barrett — or, as Colbert put it, “four old guys and a woman who thinks The Handmaid’s Tale is a rom-com” — endorsed the decision.

The show host then gave his own opinion of the Justice’s opinion, which called for both Roe v. Wade and Casey v. Planned Parenthood to be overruled.

“A right to abortion is not deeply rooted in the nation’s history and traditions. On the contrary, an unbroken tradition of prohibiting abortion on pain of criminal punishment persisted from the earliest days of the common law.” said the draft.

But Colbert saw it differently. He thought that words from the past should not affect life in the future. He then mocked basic laws for what he thought was written only for “white land-holding males.” In his final argument, Colbert said he couldn’t tell you if Roe v. Wade was rightly decided because he is not a lawyer, but he went on to say that the Judges accepted the “precedent in the Supreme Court,” so they should just keep it the way it is. He then said American voters support abortion in all or most cases at 80 percent, though he did not provide any sources for that statement.

The Susan B. Anthony’s List has polling data on the abortion question. It’s doubtful that Stephen Colbert nor his show employees spent any time on that website when they did the ‘research’ for the Colbert Show preparation.
