(PresidentialWire.com)- Back in June 2020 during an interview with CBS News’ Nora O’Donnell, then-candidate Joe Biden said that in his discussions on whom he would choose as his running mate, he wanted someone strong – someone “who is ready to be president on day one.”
After the Biden campaign selected Kamala Harris two months later, Biden said that Kamala was the best person “to lead this nation starting in January 2021.” One assumes Biden didn’t mean the best person even including him. But, then again, it’s Joe Biden, so it can’t be ruled out.
But for all Biden’s talk about choosing someone strong who would be ready to lead the nation in January of 2021, it looks as though he chose rather poorly.
At least that’s what the majority of Americans think.
In a poll conducted by Convention of States Action in partnership with the Trafalgar Group, a decisive majority of voters, 58.6 percent, are “not confident at all” that Kamala Harris is ready to be president and commander-in-chief. An additional five percent said they were “not very confident.”
So just shy of 64 percent of Americans don’t have confidence that the woman Biden claimed would be ready on day one is anywhere near ready.
Surprisingly, among those saying they are not confident, 42.6 percent were Democrat voters.
That is brutal.
But the fact is, Kamala Harris has been consistently struggling with upside down approval ratings since she assumed the Vice Presidency in January. Her low approvals outpace even those of her cognitively-impaired boss – not to mention most of her predecessors.
Driving Harris’ disapproval appears to be her bungling of the ever-increasing border crisis which President Biden passed off to her back in March.
When President Biden put Harris in charge of dealing with the crushing flood of illegals pouring over the border, he proudly said that there is “nobody who is better qualified” to do the job.
Of course he also said she’d be ready to lead the nation on day one. So clearly Joe Biden’s assessment of Kamala Harris’ qualifications and abilities aren’t exactly something one can take to the bank.
Her trip to Guatemala and Mexico certainly didn’t improve things for the painfully unqualified Harris. The disastrous trip was made all the more painful by her defensive and awkward interview with NBC anchor Lester Holt.
No wonder Joe Biden tried walking back his decision to put Kamala Harris in charge of the border crisis

Couple that with her refusal to travel to the border until after former President Trump announced his own trip, not to mention her frequent inappropriate cackling, it isn’t surprising that Kamala Harris isn’t well-liked among the American people.
Though Hillary Clinton is probably relieved that there is finally a Democrat woman more detested than she is.
