(PresidentialWire.com)- On Sunday, in addition to blaming Russia’s Vladimir Putin for the invasion of Ukraine, Republican Senator Ron Johnson also laid some blame on Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats who “used Ukraine as a pawn in their impeachment travesty.”
During an interview on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Features” with host Maria Bartiromo, Johnson condemned Russian President Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine and suggested that we have to look at what led to this crisis.
Johnson argued that Putin would never have moved on Ukraine if it had not been for the weakness of the Biden administration and “the West in general.”
Naming Pelosi, along with Congressman Adam Schiff and the corpulent Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, Johnson said he hoped they would reflect on how using Ukraine as a pawn in Trump’s first impeachment hearings not only weakened Ukraine but also weakened America “by the divisive politics that they play.”
He has a point. Ukraine definitely became a pawn in a political game. And for all the Democrats’ current words of support for Ukraine, the way they exploited that country to destroy a sitting president makes their words of support ring hallow.
Naturally, the Democrat-supporting media were outraged that Senator Johnson would make such a blazingly obvious statement.
