(PresidentialWire.com)- When you think of the words “Eskimo Pie” you probably think of ice cream – and so do most people. Social justice warriors, however, think a bit differently. According to a report from Reuters, the company behind the Eskimo Pie, Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream, will change the name of the popular ice cream because they “recognize the term is derogatory.”
They didn’t clarify which part of the name was derogatory or why.
“We are committed to being a part of the solution on racial equality, and recognize the term is derogatory,” the header of marketing at Deyer’s Grand, Elizabell Marques, announced in an official statement. “This move is part of a larger review to ensure our company and brands reflect our people values,” she also said.
This is just one in a long line of famous and popular American products that will change their names out of fear that the violent Black Lives Matter mob will come for their business next. Eskimo Pie will now spend a large amount of money coming up with an entirely new brand and name, replacing all of their existing branding and packaging, and then no doubt on a marketing campaign that reintroduces customers to their product under the new name.
Without spending even more cash on those new advertising campaigns, nobody will know that the new product is the same old Eskimo Pie…just with a new woke name.
If you’ve been living under a rock, you might be surprised to learn that Aunt Jemima is on her way out, too. After Black Lives Matter burned down several major American cities supposedly in the name of justice for George Floyd, Quaker Foods announced that the Aunt Jemima brand would be canned because the logo is “based on a racial stereotype.”
“As we work to make progress toward racial equality through several initiatives, we also must take a hard look at our portfolio of brands and ensure they reflect our values and meet our consumers’ expectations,” the brand said in an official release.
Can’t they just leave our breakfast foods and ice cream alone?
