(PresidentialWire.com)- Senator Lindsey Graham is interesting. He’s the Republican chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee and represents South Carolina, and while he’s no enemy of President Trump, he’s not a consistent ally either. That’s what makes it so much more meaningful when he comes forward and says somebody needs to go to jail over the hoax investigations into President Donald Trump and his campaign.
Senator Graham said to Maria Bartiromo on Sunday during an interview on Fox Business that the Senate Intelligence Committee will be releasing big news about the investigation into the 2016 Trump campaign and the disproven claim that he was aided by the Russian government.
For some time now, Graham and other Republicans in the Senate have been slowly releasing declassified documents that show how the FBI was aware that no evidence suggested collusion even before they began the special counsel investigation. Despite this, documents show that the FBI continued to target President Donald Trump and his associated.
“Stay tuned next week,” Graham told Bartiromo, suggesting that more information is coming.
“Not only do we now know that the FBI lied to the FISA court about the reliability of the dossier. They told the court that the subsource was truthful and cooperative and Russian-based,” he said. “The truth of the matter is that the subsource was American-based. He was an employee of Christopher Steele, who was on the payroll of the Democratic Party. And he told Christopher Steele, this is all a bunch of hearsay. And when the FBI understood that the dossier was no longer reliable, they continued to use it. But we also now have found, and this will come out next week, that Congress got suspicious about the Russian subsource and the reliability of the Steele dossier and that members of Congress asked to be briefed about it.”
The FBI has long claimed that the Steele Dossier was not the basis for their investigation into Trump, but FISA court applications have long disproved this claim. The dossier, as we now know, was actually the primary source used to start the investigation that proved to be unnecessary.
Graham told Bartiromo that the FBI lied to the FISA court as well as Congress over the reliability of the dossier – a crime.
“Somebody needs to go to jail,” he said.
This is huge news. Let’s wait and see what comes out in the coming week, and see who Graham thinks needs to go to jail.
Let’s not fool ourselves, though. If they can get away with a hoax investigation that successfully swayed public opinion over a lie, the Democrats are probably capable of making sure their allies don’t go to jail.
