Kamala Harris’ Shifting Stance On Cash Bail

(PresidentialWire.com)- Kamala Harris’ transformation from tough-as-nails prosecutor willing to jail parents for truancy to Progressive Hero embracing bail and prison reform has been so transparently fake, it is something to behold.

Despite her long record of putting people behind bars and fighting to keep them there even when they are innocent, Harris has refashioned herself as a warrior for “criminal justice reform.”

And while Harris’ record as a prosecutor is well known, she continues to pretend it doesn’t exist.

After Kyle Rittenhouse was acquitted, Harris made the outlandish claim that she spent the “majority of my career” trying to bring equity to the justice system. You know, by jailing parents for truancy and keeping innocent men in jail on fabricated evidence.

This woman is a piece of work.

But her criminal justice flip-flop isn’t a new phenomenon at all.

Tulsi Gabbard famously called her out for it during a Democrat primary debate.

After joining the Senate, Harris knew her ticket to the White House rested on catering to the radical Left. So she shifted her long-held positions and started advocating for causes she once vehemently opposed.

As both district attorney in San Francisco and California attorney general, Harris not only supported cash bail, she would often demand higher bail for certain charges.

But in 2017, Senator Harris co-sponsored a cash bail reform bill introduced by Senator Rand Paul (R-KY). Harris and Paul co-wrote an op-ed at the New York Times arguing “Excessive bail disproportionately harms people from low-income communities and communities of color.”

Back when she was a prosecutor, Harris defended cash bail in a lawsuit arguing the bail system “does not categorically deny bail to any group of individuals.”

But that’s how Kamala Harris operates.

She has always been a political opportunist. She goes where the wind blows if she thinks that wind will blow her into higher office. Right now, the wind is blowing Democrats toward keeping criminals on the streets. So Kamala is changing her tune, pretending that she was always a big advocate for “equity” in criminal justice, all while hoping voters won’t notice her flip-flops.
