(PresidentialWire.com)- Vice President Kamala Harris confirmed on TODAY last week that the Biden administration will absolutely not be sending U.S. troops to Ukraine to fight against the Russians. Her comments came as Russia stepped up its assault on major cities throughout Ukraine, and as a military convoy threatened the Ukrainian capital city of Kyiv.
Speaking to Savannah Guthrie, Harris said:
“As we’ve said, and I’ll repeat, we’re not going to put U.S. troops on the ground to fight Russians in Ukraine, down on the ground or in the air,” she said.
She added that the Biden administration is providing Ukraine and other allies with an “extraordinary amount of support that is about security assistance and military assistance.”
Harris explained how thousands of American troops have been deployed to NATO countries to assist, including Poland, where allies are being supported in receiving refugees who are fleeing Ukraine in their millions.
More than 1.5 million Ukrainians have fled Ukraine for neighboring countries so far, with more on the way.
Harris slammed Putin’s comments about putting his nuclear deterrent on “high alert,” saying that it is “irresponsible to escalate, and we feel very strongly about this.”
You heard it, people. Kamala Harris feels very strongly about this! So, it must be alright…
