(PresidentialWire.com)- Before Joe Biden even took office, Meena Harris was already becoming a thorn in the side of incoming administration.
The 36-year-old niece of Vice President Kamala Harris used her family name to boost her own “brand” while capitalizing on her connection to VP Harris to market books and apparel – all to the consternation of the Biden White House.
On Wednesday, in response to the escalating tensions between Israel and Hamas, Harris shared a post on Instagram that read:
“One cannot advocate for racial equality, LGBT & women’s rights, condemn corrupt and abusive regimes & other injustices yet choose to ignore the Palestinian oppression. It does not add up. You cannot pick & choose whose human rights matter more.”
Harris added this message to her Instagram followers, “If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor. I stand in solidarity with the residents of Sheikh Jarrah.”
The real estate dispute in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah was exploited by Hamas as a justification to escalate violence. Like most Hamas propaganda, the objective is to play on the emotions of gullible Westerners.
Which might explain why Meena Harris was fooled.
But she wasn’t done.
In addition to the post accusing Israel of being an “oppressor,” Harris also used her Instagram account to accuse Israel of being an apartheid state.
This rhetoric will no doubt cause even more trouble between the Biden White House and Kamala’s reckless niece.
In February, fearing ethics violations, White House lawyers had to step in and tell Meena to stop using the Vice President to boost her own personal brand. Harris has been profiting from her aunt’s name and image throughout the 2020 election.
Blundering into the conflict in Israel isn’t the first time Meena Harris found herself speaking before thinking.
After the March 23rd shooting at a Kosher grocery store in Boulder, Colorado, Harris tweeted “The Atlanta shooting was not even a week ago. Violent white men are the greatest terrorist threat to our country.”
When it was learned that the shooter was a 21-year-old Syrian-born American named Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa, Harris deleted her “violent white men” tweet, and added this clarification:
“I deleted a previous tweet about the suspect in the Boulder shooting. I made an assumption based on his being taken into custody alive and the fact that the majority of mass shootings in the U.S. are carried out by white men.”
Perhaps someone this careless with the facts should not be white-knighting for Hamas.
