(Presidentialwire.com)- Another former Trump administration official is saying he will run for the Republican nomination in 2024.
Former Trump National Security Advisor John Bolton told Good Morning Britain last week that he would run for President to stop his former boss from securing the Republican nomination.
This shows you just how stupid John Bolton is.
If Bolton really wanted to stop Trump from being the GOP nominee, he would urge every future also-ran, including himself, to stay out of the primary to avoid splitting the anti-Trump vote between a bunch of idiots who will never get more than 2 percent support.
Joining the pig pile of “not a chance in hell” candidates will all but guarantee a Trump nomination.
Bolton told Good Morning Britain that he would run for office “primarily on the basis that we need a much stronger foreign policy.” He said it must be understood in Moscow and Beijing that “unprovoked aggression against your neighbors is not something the United States and its allies would tolerate.”
When asked about Trump’s influence over the Republican Party, Bolton said Trump’s support in the GOP “is in terminal decline.”
Well, if that’s what he thinks, why on earth would he toss his hat into the ring? Why bother running to stop the nomination of someone whose support you think is in “terminal decline?” That makes zero sense.
Bolton also laughingly claimed that he wouldn’t be a “vanity candidate” if he ran in 2024, adding that if he didn’t believe he could “run seriously” then he “wouldn’t get in the race.”
But it isn’t a question of whether John Bolton takes himself seriously. The question is, will voters in today’s climate take Bolton seriously? And chances are, a John Bolton for President campaign would be laughed off the stage.
During a recent appearance on NBC’s Meet the Press, Bolton said the way Trump challenges the Constitution is “un-American” and he is “prepared to get in the race.”
