Joe Manchin Says Inflation Is A “Clear And Present” Danger

(PresidentialWire.com)- Last week, West Virginia Democrat Senator Joe Manchin caused a tearful meltdown among progressive Democrats when he once again dashed their hopes of ramming through a Climate Change agenda while they still hold Congress.

In a statement last Wednesday, Manchin said that for over a year, leaders in Washington have ignored his concerns about the threat inflation poses to the US economy.

Manchin has been a thorn in the side of the Biden administration’s far-left spending agenda. He put an end to Biden’s planned “Build Back Better” spending monstrosity late last year, making the same argument about massive government spending at a time when inflation is out of control.

Recently, the West Virginia Democrat was once again attempting to negotiate some kind of scaled-down version of “Build Back Better” in the Senate. But after the consumer spending report was released last week showing inflation in June at a 40-year-high of 9.1 percent, Manchin once again pulled the plug.

Naturally, Democrats are livid.

And in their blind rage, they seem oblivious to the reality that Joe Manchin isn’t hurting them. He’s the guy who is stopping the Democrats from hurting themselves even more than they already have.

In his statement, Manchin said no matter the “spending aspirations” some members of Congress might have, “it is clear to anyone who visits a grocery store or a gas station that we cannot add any more fuel to this inflation fire.”

Passing a $500 billion green boondoggle in the middle of 40-year-high inflation is insane. While Manchin seems to understand this, the Democrats either don’t understand it or don’t care.

Given that the Biden administration has all but admitted that causing economic pain is the point of its quest to “transition” to a so-called Green economy, it’s likely Manchin’s Democrat colleagues fall in the “don’t care” category.

Manchin called on Democrats to “get unnecessary spending under control,” increase US energy production, and “take more active and serious steps to address this record inflation.”

Yeah, that’s never going to happen.
