(PresidentialWire.com)- President Donald Trump’s administration led the way on the first Middle Eastern peace deal in decades, and as a result, Israel and the United Arab Emirates have finally begun normal diplomatic relations. As part of the agreement, direct flights between the two countries are now taking place and the first flight went ahead on Monday morning.
The historic flight carried senior White House advisor Jared Kushner as well as an American and Israel delegation heading to the country to begin talks that finalize the deal after it was signed earlier this month.
In honor of the new agreement, the Israeli El Al plane had the word “peace” painted on the side in Hebrew, Arabic, and English. Seat protectors on the flight also had the words “Making History” written on them in three languages, and passengers heard traditional Israeli music during the journey.
Jared Kushner’s wife, and daughter of President Trump, Ivanka Trump, said that he prayed at the Western Wall that “Muslims & Arabs from throughout the world will be watching” the flight and “recognizing that we are all children of God and that the future does not have to be predetermined by the past.”

It’s exactly the kind of peace deal the Middle East needs and one that former Vice President Joe Biden was unable to achieve during his eight years in the White House with former President Barack Obama.
The flight was also the first one operated by El Al in Israel since they were grounded on July 1 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. It was the first time ever that an airplane from Israel was allowed to fly over Saudi Arabia’s airspace. It means that passengers from now on will be able to save roughly four hours of flight time by heading directly to the UAE.
Speaking to the Jerusalem Post, Jared Kushner said that Saudi Arabia’s willingness to allow planes to fly over their airspace was a “manifestation of what is possible in the Middle East” and that it is a “sign” and “encouragement for this progress.”
President Trump’s administration has done more to establish peace in the Middle East than any other recent administration, including Barack Obama, who was well-known for his drone strikes and hawkish attitude to war.
