YouTube’s Mysterious Algorithm Strikes Again
In a move that has conservatives crying foul, Google’s YouTube seems to have pulled a fast one on Joe Rogan and Donald Trump. The tech giant’s search algorithm apparently decided that one of the most-watched interviews of the year wasn’t worth showing to people actually looking for it. It’s almost as if they think we’re too stupid to notice when a video with millions of views suddenly becomes harder to find than a Democrat at a Trump rally.
The interview, which garnered a staggering 34 million views within just 72 hours of posting, mysteriously vanished from YouTube’s search results faster than Hillary Clinton’s emails. Users reported that searching for “Rogan Trump” didn’t show the full interview in the first 50 results. It’s like playing a twisted game of hide and seek, where the prize is actually being able to watch content you’re interested in.

There’s a reason they want to hide this from you. Can you guess what it is?
YouTube’s Damage Control
When caught with their hand in the cookie jar, YouTube did what any self-respecting tech giant would do: they issued a vague statement and promised to fix the “issue.” Because apparently, it’s just a coincidence that one of the most popular political interviews of the year happened to get lost in their algorithm right before a major election.
“[With respect to] Joe Rogan/Pres. Trump interview and [YouTube] search results: Since airing Friday, the interview has generated over 34 million views on YouTube and counting, making it Joe Rogan’s most viewed episode of the year,” YouTube said in a statement.
Oh, how generous of them to acknowledge the obvious! It’s almost as if they’re surprised that people actually want to watch unfiltered conversations with presidential candidates. The audacity of the public to seek out information directly from the source instead of pre-approved, sanitized sound bites!
And, in a twist that would make even the most dedicated conspiracy theorist proud, YouTube claimed that while the full interview was playing hide and seek, short excerpts were still popping up in searches. It’s like being told you can have a few crumbs, but the whole cake is off-limits. How thoughtful of them to decide what parts of the interview we’re allowed to see easily.
Joe Rogan noticed what happened, too. And he took action.
Rogan decided to take matters into his own hands, posting the full episode on Elon Musk’s X platform, effectively giving YouTube’s mysterious algorithm the digital equivalent of a middle finger. It’s refreshing to see someone stand up to the tech giants and their apparent desire to curate our political discourse.
Now imagine what would have happened in this election of Musk had not bought Twitter…
Independent voters may never have seen this groundbreaking interview.
