Hot mic catches Fauci calling GOP senator ‘a moron’

(PresidentialWire.com)- On Tuesday, Dr. Anthony Fauci testified before the Senate Health Committee on the Omicron variant of COVID-19 where he got into heated arguments with several Republican lawmakers.

During one exchange, Kansas Republican Senator Roger Marshall grilled Fauci about disclosing his personal finances to Congress. Marshall cited the report in Forbes that showed Fauci is the highest-paid federal employee, earning $434,312 in 2020.

The thin-skinned Fauci got irritated with Senator Marshall, telling Marshall he didn’t understand why he was being asked about his finances. Fauci noted that his financial disclosure has been “public knowledge” for over thirty years.

Marshall said Big Tech is doing “an incredible job” of keeping Fauci’s finances from the public and added that the Senate will continue looking into it.

An irate Fauci snapped, “You’re so misinformed, it’s extraordinary.” And when the exchange wrapped up, Fauci could be heard muttering, “What a moron” and “Jesus Christ.”

This is the problem with Tony Fauci. He believes he is above Congressional oversight. He is condescending, sanctimonious, and arrogant.

After Fauci’s hot mic remarks, Marshall released a statement on Tuesday saying he knows Fauci “had a very frustrating day” what with the “bombshell report” showing he did, in fact, award US taxpayer funding for gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute. Marshall said being called out about his personal finances must have been “very frustrating” for Fauci. He concluded that while calling him a “moron” might have alleviated some of the stress “of the least trusted bureaucrat in America,” it doesn’t “take away from the facts.”

But the Senator who really got under Fauci’s skin during his testimony was Kentucky Republican Rand Paul. Senator Paul excoriated Fauci’s arrogance for claiming that criticizing Fauci is in reality criticizing science.

Curtis Houck includes several clips of the heated exchange between Dr. Paul and Dr. Fauci, and every one of them is worth watching. See the entire thread HERE.
