(PresidentialWire.com)- This week, the National Pulse found another Democrat they could link to China. As if that’s hard. It would be far more interesting if the National Pulse could dig up a Democrat that doesn’t have some connection to the Communist Chinese.
The man in the crosshairs this time is Jonathan Mantz.
Mantz’s resume includes serving as the Finance Director for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee from 1998 to 2002 under former Democrat Leader Richard Gephardt. He then held the same position with the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee in 2004. And in 2008, Mantz became the National Finance Director of Hillary Clinton’s 2008 presidential campaign.
According to the National Pulse, Mantz is now lobbying on behalf of the American Chamber of Commerce in South China through the public relations team BGR Group.
The American Chamber of Commerce in South China seeks to facilitate “bilateral trade” between China and the United States. It was accredited in 1995 by the US Chamber of Commerce.
The National Pulse dug up lobbying registration documents that show Mantz is lobbying the National Security Council on behalf of the chamber.
According to the National Pulse, to meet its goal of facilitating bilateral trade between the US and China, the American Chamber of Commerce in South China “routinely partners” with the Communist Chinese Party.
Regardless of how one might feel about trade between China and the US, it would be impossible to facilitate trade with any country without the involvement of the country’s government. So the American Chamber of Commerce in South China having to “routinely” partner with Beijing to facilitate trade is going to be baked into the mix.
So long as the US and China engage in trade, there will be organizations seeking to facilitate that trade on behalf of US companies. And there will be people who get paid to lobby on behalf of the organizations that facilitate such trade.
Unless or until the United States decouples from China, this is the nature of the beast.
