Elon Musk Promotes Only ‘High-Status Males’ Running ‘Free Republic’

Billionaire Elon Musk is a magnet for criticism from anyone to the left of center, and many of the thoughts he shared could be accurately said to “trigger” such people.

He is an unapologetic capitalist and proponent of free speech, shelling out $44 billion in 2022 to buy Twitter (now called X) to the consternation (and huffing and puffing) of the liberal media and the cosmopolitan elite who think that opinions to the right of their threaten what they call “our democracy.”

His latest salvo on the platform he owns is no exception. He recently posted an image with text that asserts that a truly free “republic” can only exist if it’s run by “high-status males. Mainstream media cannot even bring themselves to link to Musk’s post, treating it as if it were contaminated by “toxic masculinity.” Those interested can see it here.

Most outlets falsely claim that Musk was endorsing the paragraph that he merely reposted with the comment “interesting obseration.” The post in question says that women and low-status men, those who are physically weaker, tend to process information through a “consensus filter.” That is to say, they try to seek broad agreement as a strategy because brute force is not available to them.

This report from the Independent, reproduced by Yahoo, makes sure to give a signal that the outlets have judged Musk to be toxically masculine. How? By claiming that the post originated on the controversial bulletin board 4chan, which they describe as “far-right” and infested by dangerous out of control men.

Nearly all mainstream news outlets are claiming that Musk is advocating for a world without women, and without any men except the most macho. There is no evidence from Musk’s own behavior to support this allegation.

The post claims that women and lower status men do not use strict logic to make decisions, but rely on social consensus (popularity) to win agreement with their positions. In other words, they don’t care as much about whether a claim is true, and more about whether it is socially agreed upon.

The Independent/Yahoo report abandons any pretense to objectivity by claiming that the post is a “toxic” “theory” “which promotes hegemonic masculinity.”
