Following his arrest on a murder allegation stemming from a shooting in a neighborhood in the Northeast of El Paso this week, a suspect is shown smiling in his booking photo.
Police murder investigators in El Paso, Texas, apprehended 24-year-old Tristan Alexander Colgrove on July 10 in relation to a death that occurred on Monday in the Logan Heights community after a 26-year-old male was gunned down, according to authorities.
The identity of the deceased man will not be released until his family has been notified. According to the police, he lives in the Northeast.
The man’s body was discovered about 6:15 a.m. on Monday on a sidewalk next to an alley, suffering from a gunshot wound.
According to records from the El Paso County Jail, which do not indicate any prior arrests, Colgrove was taken into custody on a murder charge on Tuesday.
The booking photo of Colgrove, who has a beard, long dark hair, and a single earring stud, shows him grinning widely.
Colgrove was arrested after a couple got into an argument, and the boyfriend locked the girl in a bedroom, roughing her up and causing bruising.
Her mother later texted her son and daughter to go to her apartment and help her. The daughter was playing video games with Colgrove and two of his friends when she got the text. Colgrove and his friends decided to go beat up the boyfriend. When he arrived, the boyfriend was on the staircase leading out of the apartment complex.
Colgrove pushed him, and they fought. The boyfriend stabbed Colgrove in the arm and ran away. Colgrove and one of his friends chased the boyfriend, and a gun was fired.
The boyfriend died at the scene. Colgrove asked one of his two friends to take the blame, but they later told the truth.
He was charged with murder and booked into the El Paso County Jail on a $1 million bond.
