CNN FALSELY Claims Biden Didn’t Call Trump’s China Travel Ban “Xenophobic.” He Did.

( Far-left news outlet CNN falsely claimed on Tuesday that former Vice President Joe Biden did not call President Donald Trump’s decision to ban travel from China “xenophobic.” The outlet published a “fact check” following the first presidential debates, suggesting that the issue lacked context.

“Defending his response to the coronavirus pandemic, President Trump referenced the travel restrictions his administration imposed on foreign nationals who had been in China, then attacked Biden for remarks he had made the same day,” CNN wrote in their so-called fact check.

“Addressing his opponent, Trump said, ‘I closed it, and you said, He’s xenophobic. He’s a racist. And he’s xenophobic. Because you didn’t think I should have closed our country,” CNN added.

And that’s precisely what happened. On March 18, President Donald Trump tweeted that he had “treated the Chinese virus very seriously” and that he made the “very early decision to close the ‘borders’ from China.”

Joe Biden responded to the tweet, saying, “Stop the xenophobic fear-mongering.”

So he did call Trump xenophobic for shutting the borders to China.

He didn’t just say it on Twitter, either. In March, Joe Biden said that President Trump’s response to the virus, including his shutting of the borders to China and Europe, was “xenophobic.”

CNN, however, claimed that Trump’s comments were “lacking context.”

“It’s not clear Biden even know about Trump’s China travel restrictions when he called Trump xenophobic on the day the restrictions were unveiled,” CNN claimed. “Biden has never explicitly linked his accusation of xenophobia to these travel restrictions.”

This fact check, however, was wrong. This outlet is fact-checking those claims, and as the evidence above shows, Joe Biden did explicitly call Donald Trump xenophobic. And unless the Democrats want to admit that Joe Biden doesn’t man his own Twitter feed, then he must have known about the travel ban…because Biden responded to a Tweet the president published that referenced it!
