In an exclusive interview with Breitbart News, Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk railed churches, according to the outlet. Kirk reportedly criticized Christian churches around the country for bowing down at the altar of woke so that they can gain the left’s approval.
While traveling the country for TPUSA Faith, Kirk observed that many churches are advocating for abortion and LGBTQ+ rights. The notable right-wing activist is not alone in feeling this way. An April Rasmussen Reports poll reportedly revealed that a majority of Americans are concerned that churches are dropping traditional beliefs.
Kirk claimed that Christians are not “called to be tolerant,” suggesting that tolerating sin or other immoral acts is not true love because it is love without truth. He continued to say that the church is more worried about offending people than preaching the Gospel, adding that the left-wing ideology has infected the church like a parasite.
It might be that pastors are ignorant of what the Bible means when it comes to certain topics, which Kirk said was “too bad” while cautioning against the loss of liberty. He described liberty as an idea from God, not man, and suggested that the loss of a strong church invites the possibility of tyranny.
During the interview, Kirk brought up a common sentiment with pastors around the country, which was the unwillingness to talk about politics because it is “divisive.” But as the activist reminds us, the Gospel is divisive, according to the Gospel of Luke. He went on to list biblical figures that were political, such as Joseph, Daniel, Esther, Mordecai, and Nehemiah.
The founding fathers also reportedly quoted more from the Book of Deuteronomy than from the Enlightenment philosophers, such as Rousseau, Montesquieu, and Locke. But as religion becomes more and more irrelevant in Americans’ lives, churches are capitulating to left-wing dogma despite that.
