Bill Gates Says He “Caused Pain” To His Wife In Public Admission

( When Bill and Melinda Gates revealed in May 2021 that their 27-year marriage was ending, the world was taken by surprise. Rumors were that Gates was having an affair with a Microsoft employee. Microsoft’s millionaire co-founder recently revealed that he had caused his wife anguish in an interview with “Today” co-anchor Savannah Guthrie.

Guthrie asked if he was unfaithful in his marriage and was it one of the factors contributing to the divorce? Their chat was primarily intended to promote the entrepreneur’s new book, “How to Prevent the Next Pandemic,” but Gates answered the questions.

He said he undoubtedly made errors, and he accepts full responsibility.

He said he didn’t believe diving into the specifics at this time was useful, but, yes, he caused suffering, and he was sorry for that.

Bill Gates revealed having “an affair over 20 years ago” with a fellow Microsoft colleague shortly after Gates’ divorce was finalized last year.

When Melinda was asked on CBS Sunday Morning if her ex-husband was a serial cheater, she abstained from responding one way or the other. The 66-year-old mother of three said, “Those are things Bill needs to answer.”

The author of “Moment of Lift” opened up a bit about how she felt about everything. In an interview with Us Weekly, she remarked, “I think it’s incredibly essential to say, look, I had a lot of tears for many days.”

She said there were days when she was lying on the floor with the carpet, thinking, how can this be?

She asked herself how she was going to proceed. There were days when she was exceedingly enraged. She said that with part of the mourning process, one might experience some sadness. You’re grieving the loss of what you believed you had and believed you would have for the rest of your life.

She said it is painful stuff.

But at the end of the day, one begins this path of healing, and she is starting to feel like she is making progress toward the other side. And she feels like she’s coming to the end of this chapter.

“I mean, it’s 2022, and I’m excited about what’s to come and life ahead for me,” said Melinda.

The pair tied the knot in 1994 and went on to have three children together during their relationship. They announced their split in a Twitter message in May of this year.

“After a great deal of thought and a lot of work on our relationship, we have made the decision to end our marriage,” she wrote. “Over the last 27 years, we have raised three incredible children and built a foundation that works all over the world to enable all people to lead healthy, productive lives. We continue to share a belief in that mission and will continue our work together at the foundation, but we no longer believe we can grow together as a couple in this next phase of our lives.”
