Biden’s Physician Explains Why Top Neurologist Vising White House

One of President Joe Biden’s doctors, Dr. Kevin O’Connor, clarified the eight visits to the White House by a neurologist, Dr. Kevin Cannard,  who specializes in treating Parkinson’s disease.

In a letter, O’Connor detailed Cannard’s role in the White House Medical Unit (WHMU) as the Neurology Consultant since 2012. He said that Cannard has helped out the thousands of active-duty service members stationed there by hosting regular neurology clinics at the White House Medical Clinic.

According to O’Connor, his extensive background and knowledge in the field of neurology were major factors in his selection. He was a practicing neurologist for six years before completing his fellowship in movement disorders at Emory University. Among military healthcare providers, he has the longest tenure at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

According to a newly disclosed White House visitor record, Cannard made eight trips to the White House between 2023 and 2024.

During July 8th’s press conference, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was swamped with questions by reporters who wanted to know why Cannard had been to the White House several times in the previous few months.  Biden saw a neurological specialist three times while in office, according to Jean-Pierre, although she would not reveal which doctor paid a visit to the White House.

According to O’Connor’s letter, the President’s yearly physical examinations have traditionally included a multidisciplinary team of medical experts, including dentists, orthopedists, physiotherapists, neurologists, sleep medicine, cardiologists, radiologists, dermatologists, and others. President Biden’s yearly physicals were evaluated by Dr. Cannard, a neurological expert. After each announcement of the President’s yearly physical results, O’Connor made his findings public. With the exception of his yearly checkup, President Biden had not seen a neurologist.

Concerns that O’Connor’s private business relationships with the Biden family may have influenced his medical evaluations of Biden prompted the House Oversight Committee to request a discussion with them.

Many in the media, Democrats, donors, and voters criticized Biden after his performance in the June 27 presidential debate against Trump. Many are calling for Biden to be replaced.
