4th Stimulus Check Coming To Some Americans

(PresidentialWire.com)- Most Americans received three direct stimulus checks from the federal government between the spring of 2020 and the spring of 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The last round of these payments were sent to all Americans who were eligible last spring, as part of the multi-trillion-dollar stimulus package signed under President Joe Biden. Some individuals never received those payments, though they are still eligible to file to receive the money through their annual taxes.
Now that the tax-filing deadline for the year has passed, people in some states will be able to qualify for a fourth economic stimulus payment.
In Georgia, for example, Republican Governor Brian Kemp signed a law in March that provides some eligible residents of the state with more economic payments once they filed their taxes this year.
In a statement, Kemp’s office explained:
“HB 1302 will provide for a one-time tax credit for taxpayers who filed income tax returns for both the 2020 and 2021 taxable years.”
After taxpayers in Georgia file their 2021 tax returns, the additional credit will be sent to them via the Department of Revenue in the state. The governor’s office said there will be three tiers of these payments.
Individual filers will receive a $250 credit. Married couples will receive $500, and any taxpayer that is considered head of household will receive a payment of $375.
In explaining the bill previously, Kemp said:
“When government takes in more than it needs, I believe those dollars should be returned to the taxpayer, because that is your money — not the government’s.”
And, he followed through on that promise.
Legislation that is similar to that was passed in Indiana. There, Republican Governor Eric Holcomb said residents of the state who meet the eligibility would receive a “125 Automatic Taxpayer Refund” once they file their taxes for 2021.
Earlier in April, Holcomb’s office released a statement that said:
“The Governor first announced in December that an estimated 4.3 million taxpayers will receive a $125 refund after they file their 2021 taxes. An estimated $545 million will be returned to Hoosiers. After the tax-filing deadline passes on April 18, the Department of Revenue in conjunction with the Auditor of State’s Office will begin issuing the refunds via direct deposit or by mailing a paper check.”
Single filers in New Mexico could be eligible for a $250 one-time rebate, with married couples eligible for a rebate of $500.
In New Jersey, Democratic Governor Phil Murphy and the state legislature there approved a budget that will send a $500 rebate check to roughly 1 million families. And the governor is proposing another $500 rebate for any individual who files taxes using a taxpayer ID number instead of a Social Security number.
In Idaho, the state passed a bill that allocates $350 million in total tax rebates for residents who are eligible for the program.
States are starting to step up for their residents to help them through tough economic times, as the federal government doesn’t seem prepared to do so after spending multiple trillions of dollars on various plans over the last two years.
